I have had to rest a lot more lately and so I am reading a lot. I am enjoying Daphne duMaurier’s novels once again. I don’t know which one of her novels is my favorite; I like them all!  She is a talented writer that never goes out of style!

In between resting and reading, I’ve picked up sewing again.

Here is another tablerunner I made. I love the colors.

This pattern stitches up so quick and easy and there are so many color combination possibilities! I plan to make several as Christmas gifts.  I love fabric, I love color. I love stitching also, but I tend to finish quilt projects faster than my stitching needlework.  The quilt shop displays so many beautiful models of hand-made quilts, you can’t help but get inspired when you go there!

I hope you have a chance to work on something fun that you enjoy. It really brightens up these dark Fall days.

Making it…

There was a wonderful service for Milt Saturday…it was a combination of a memorial and a celebration of his life. It was hard to say goodbye to such a special person. 

 ”The Lord knows the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be forever.” Psalm 37:18

I’ve started the Carriage House chart “Love”. I really like the colors! I didn’t want to do it in the Autumn gold they have their model in so I picked the Legacy linen I had on hand. 

I also ordered some silks from Vikki Clayton to start the Shores of Hawk Run Hollow.

 

I love the colors on the Sand Belfast linen.

I love colors. I love choosing background fabric and threads. This is the CHS (Carraige House) small “Faith” chart. The background fabric is some pretty pink evenweave I found at Joann fabrics! Usually I don’t shop there, (I prefer to get linen online) but I couldn’t resist this color.

With the CHS it doesn’t look bad, does it??? I couldn’t get the camera to do exactly the right shading but I think you get the general idea…I realize the colors are a bit unusual and not for everyone, but I like it!

The fabric is 28 ct. Thyme Jobelan and the threads are Weeks and DMC. The plan is for Faith, Hope, Love, Charity and Honor by CHS (Carraige House). I can’t wait to start!

This is my first needlework blog. I hope I make a success of it! I am so impressed with the incredibly lovely needlework blogs I come across, and I finally mustered up the courage to start my own.

Today is the first day of March, Spring is on the way (even though it is snowing thickly here today) and full of promise.

My WIP’s

  This is done on 28 ct. evenweave and I didn’t realize at the time that I would need extra threads (Havana and Moss) so I put it aside and ordered from Amy at Down Sunshine Lane two days ago. It was in my mailbox this morning! Amy is very fast and very, very easy to order from, one of my favorite suppliers!

So far I am working on Their Song (Blackbird) and Jane Austen Sampler “At Home” (Sampler Girl).

I am a beginner on linen and am finally starting to feel comfortable working with linen after being used to aida!
