I have had to rest a lot more lately and so I am reading a lot. I am enjoying Daphne duMaurier’s novels once again. I don’t know which one of her novels is my favorite; I like them all!  She is a talented writer that never goes out of style!

In between resting and reading, I’ve picked up sewing again.

Here is another tablerunner I made. I love the colors.

This pattern stitches up so quick and easy and there are so many color combination possibilities! I plan to make several as Christmas gifts.  I love fabric, I love color. I love stitching also, but I tend to finish quilt projects faster than my stitching needlework.  The quilt shop displays so many beautiful models of hand-made quilts, you can’t help but get inspired when you go there!

I hope you have a chance to work on something fun that you enjoy. It really brightens up these dark Fall days.

Grape Jelly

We had a superabundant grape harvest this year! We made lots of grape jelly and home-canned grape juice!

I have been sewing tablerunners. I found a really quick and easy pattern at our local quilt shop and it works up nice. It took me a little while to get comfortable with the side triangles but once I knew how to do them, I went to town!

It has been very dark and rainy all day here. The only solution is to stitch…or read….or quilt…. and drink pots of tea!

Color!

I love colors. I love choosing background fabric and threads. This is the CHS (Carraige House) small “Faith” chart. The background fabric is some pretty pink evenweave I found at Joann fabrics! Usually I don’t shop there, (I prefer to get linen online) but I couldn’t resist this color.

With the CHS it doesn’t look bad, does it??? I couldn’t get the camera to do exactly the right shading but I think you get the general idea…I realize the colors are a bit unusual and not for everyone, but I like it!
